Dear Representative (Last Name):
Subject: Thank You for Speaking Up for the Unborn
Thank you for your courageous words on July 9, 2008, in the name of the unborn.
It's a crime that taxpayers are forced to subsidize the abortion industry,
particularly when it is against personal morals and beliefs. I truly appreciate
your voice in the fight for Life.
Earmarks and other caveats sneak abortion funding into bills and most Americans
don't even know that their money is being used in this way. Thank you for
standing up for me and for other pro-life Americans, and especially for the
most vulnerable of persons -- the unborn.
I greatly admire your leadership on this issue and urge you to keep fighting
the good fight.
Sincerely,
John Doe

Thank You for Speaking Out Against Abortion Funds
Representatives Chris Smith and Michele Bachmann planned a Special Order
on the floor of the House July 9, 2008. They and other pro-life members of
Congress, such as Representative Jean Schmidt, called on our government to
stop taxpayer-funded abortions. Through earmarks and other caveats, the American
people are forced to pay taxes that help organizations like Planned Parenthood
and other abortion providers. Describing Planned Parenthood, Representative
Bachmann spoke eloquently, saying, "They are big business. They are the Walmart
of big abortion. They are the big-box retailer ... It is time to stop the
public financing of Planned Parenthood: it is the right thing to do." Stopping
their funding is right, and we should thank those in Congress who work to
oppose funding abortion.
